to You my future is a memory

Our Lord Jesus Christ used these lyrics: "When I’m lost in the mystery...to You my future is a memory," on the Casting Crowns song, Already There, to help give me His wide-angle view of my life … a little glimpse of what it will be like when we step out of time and into eternity and see the panorama of the past, the present, and the future all-at-once …“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.”—I Corinthians 13:12

"All your sins were future when Jesus died."

"All that will be is not now yet."

"Faith is being able to visualize as true and real already what God is yet to do."

"Trusting God means looking beyond what we can see to what God sees."

"When we step out of time and into eternity everything will be one big panorama. We will see the past, the present, the future all-at-once—perfectly unfolded and it will all work together for good to those who love God—and it will all make sense."—Pastor Ray C. Stedman

How about you? Are there lyrics to songs that resonate with you and draw you closer to the Lord?

  1. Looking forward to having it all explained to me, but I guess by then it really won't matter. :)

  3. Beth- like you I long to see Him face to face-and to know Him as He knows me. I like this definition of trust- knowing He has seen all already and knows the outcomes for me in every situation. Each time we have to trust we learn to know His faithfulness more. Love your posts Beth. Mary from Empty Nests

  4. I anticipate the day when I will "know in full just as I am known." What great comfort we have that the God of universe full knows us and deeply loves us. Thank you for this timely reminder this morning, Beth! The Lord knew I needed to hear it. You are a gift and your writing speaks to my soul.
